Will Adam cry off baby plans to be a grandad?

- COLD FEET ITV, 9pm

COLD Feet takes on a serious subject tonight, but deals with it with its usual spot-on mix of drama and good humour. The issue is a pretty divisive one, and springs from a bombshell from Adam’s son Matt (Cel Spellman).

Not only does Matt’s news cause Adam’s (James Nesbitt) jaw to drop open in abject horror, it quickly snowballs as one by one, the friends find out and each reacts in their own unique way.

Watch out for one particularly amusing and wonderfully awkward scene involving a conversation via Facetime with the whole group gathered round to await a big decision.

Needless to say, Matt has put a dampener on Adam and Tina’s own baby-making plans as Adam has a go at some serious parenting.

Meanwhile, we’re slightly suspicious that Adam has the hots for his work colleague – the one whose husband had an affair with Tina. She keeps making eyes at him over the funky beanbags and pots of Ginseng tea.

Karen (Hermione Norris) spends most of this episode yelling at various people: “Why didn’t you tell me?”

The fact is, everyone keeps trying to talk to her but she’s far too busy dealing with diva author Bridie (someone please send her away), and knifesharpening Benjamin (Paul Ritter).

David finds himself running into some trouble with the husband of desperate housewife Nikki (Siobhan Finneran).

And elsewhere, Jen’s mum Barbara goes missing, leading to another falling out between Jen and her sister Sheila.

As always, this is mostly funny and dramatic, but be ready, out of nowhere you’ll suddenly find yourself weeping over a tender moment that you didn’t see coming.
