CARDIFF City are closing in on breaking their record crowd figure for tonight’s match against Leeds United after the club extended the opening times of their ticket office amid huge demand.

The Bluebirds have already sold more than 25,000 tickets for the match against Thomas Christiansen’s side, with both teams flying high in the Championship.

The record Bluebirds attendance at Cardiff City Stadium is 28,680 in April 2016 - when fans flooded to the stadium to see City beat Derby County 2-1 amid a special free ticket offer for fans renewing season tickets.

And the club are hopeful that the prospect of a top-ofthe-table clash with high-flying Leeds could see that record broken tonight.

The ticket office was open from at 8am this morning to allow fans to get their tickets on the way into work.

The two clubs currently sit at the top of the Championship after nine games – both on 20 points – with Neil Warnock’s men getting their impressive run of form back on track at Sunderland on Saturday after three games without a win.

Speaking about the decision to keep the ticket office open for longer, City CEO Ken Choo (above) said: “We want to give our fans every opportunity to be part of a special evening at Cardiff City Stadium tonight when we take on Leeds.

“Our solid start to the season has seen fantastic demand, with over 25,000 tickets sold far.

By helping to create a special atmosphere, City fans can really help us make the difference.

“We understand that getting down to the Ticket Office isn’t always easy around work hours, so hopefully the extended opening hours today – and early opening tomorrow – will help ensure that everybody who wants to be part of this big game can be.

“The Season Ticket & Premier Club offer will of course continue during this time.”
