WALES WILL RETURN TO FRANCE FOR PRESTIGE FRIENDLY NEXT MONTH:

-

THE Red Wall are set for a Euro 2016 encore, with Wales set to take on France in Paris next month.

And, after the disappointment of their World Cup qualifying exit last week, the FAW have looked to lift fans’ spirits by ensuring they have the chance to see Gareth Bale and Co. in action at the Stade de France.

Wales had dreamed of playing at the iconic venue last summer as part of their incredible European Championship run, only to miss out when they were beaten by Portugal in the semi-finals in Lyon.

But, having been keen on a friendly fixture following the blow of defeat to the Republic of Ireland last week, they have moved to secure the high-profile game for Friday, November 10.

Wales had been close to an agreement to face USA at home for the next international window, as well as an away fixture.

But it appears the opportunity to take on Didier Deschamps men was snapped up by the FAW. It remains to be seen whether any further fixture will now be sought.

France are ranked seventh in the world and are among the favourites for the World Cup in Russia.

Deschamps’ side boasts a cluster of world stars, including Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, Antoine Griezmann of Atletico Madrid and Paris St-Germain teenager Kylian Mbappe.

It could also prove to be manager Chris Coleman’s final game in charge if he decides to stick with his decision to walk away from the national job.

Coleman has seen senior players plead with him to stay in position for the Euro 2020 campaign, with the former defender admitting he is undecided whether to carry on.

Coleman’s contract was agreed to expire at the end of the World Cup qualifying period.
