YOURS Donation is the right call for charity

-

A WELSH charity has been boosted by a donation which has helped improve its telecommunications systems.

Prostate Cymru’s Cardiff headquarters was given equipment by RPS Technology, based in Cwmbran.

Prostate Cymru was established in 2003 and raises awareness as well as funding both the latest medical equipment and training of healthcare professionals in the fight against all prostate diseases.

Prostate Cymru’s aim is to ensure that all men in Wales have equal access to tests, treatments, knowledge and support.

Ian Norton, of Bridgecall, conducts men’s health awareness presentations on behalf of Prostate Cymru, as well as advising commercial organisations on their telephone technology strategy.

Ian contacted RPS Technology which provided the charity with four cordless phones, a broadband connection, management of their main number, and a door phone.

The firm also provided software for Smart mobile devices to allow working from home easier.

Ron Griffiths, managing director of RPS Technology Solutions, said: “Helping Prostate Cymru was a huge honour for us.

“The work Prostate Cymru does is critical in the fight against cancer, and with the help of our advanced technology system we hope that they will continue to help more men across Wales battling with the disease.”

Tina Tew, chief executive at Prostate Cymru, said: “We are extremely grateful to Ian and RPS for their support.

“The charity has grown in recent years, and this equipment will make a big difference to our day to day operation and how we are able to support our many fundraisers and volunteers.”

November is synonymous with raising awareness of prostate cancer, and is also the month that Prostate Cymru is launching the “Big Breakfast” where supporters are encouraged to host an event in aid of the charity.
