BABIES Baby Noah is always smiling

-

Baby’s name: Noah Lewis. Date and place of birth: May 23 at 1.56am at the Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil. Weight: 8lb. Parents: Mum Donna Jones, 35, and dad Paul Lewis, 39, a security officer, from Aberdare. Mum’s story: “Noah is my second son, and the pregnancy and birth was pretty much completely the same as the first time.

“It all went smoothly and I had no problems. I had a natural birth and it was a very fast labour.

“I got to the hospital at 1.30am and I’d had Noah by 1.56am. Because it was such a short labour I didn’t have any pain relief.

“I was just about to go to bed and I thought my waters had broke, so I phoned the hospital.

“They told me to wait until I had contractions, but then I told them about how quick I had my first son so they said to come in.

“We were back home after about 12 hours.

“It was brilliant when we got home, because obviously my other son Jacob finished school at 3.15pm so my partner picked him up and then he came to see Noah.

“We went straight to my mum’s house because we live just by there.

“Jacob absolutely loves Noah. He’s 10 and I think that’s a good age gap between them.

“We were a bit worried that he could be a bit jealous of the attention, but my parents adopt so he’s used to having little ones around him.

“Because of Jacob’s name I wanted another biblical name, but we could not agree on a name for a boy at all.

“We could for a girl, but I wanted to call him Noah if he was a boy.

“But on the day he was born my partner said let’s call him Noah, so it was a last-minute decision.

“Noah’s doing really well, he’s hitting all his milestones but he’s not much of a sleeper.

“In the day he might sleep for about 10 to 20 minutes.

“Noah loves music, and obviously he loves attention too.

“If you play him music he’ll smile and sometimes he’ll laugh at the songs in his playgroup.

“He’s always smiling really. I don’t know how life has changed since Noah really, but I think he was the missing piece definitely.”
