Venezuelan ace in talks with City

-

CARDIFF City have held talks about a potential deal for Venezuela international Rolf Feltscher – but Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock has admitted he would be content if he had to stick with his squad for the rest of the season.

Free-agent Feltscher has spent time in South Wales trying to impress Warnock after a deal with Birmingham City fell through following the St Andrew’s sacking of Harry Redknapp.

It was Redknapp who recommended the defender to Warnock, with the veteran Cardiff chief having run the rule over the 27-year-old in training in the build-up to today’s clash with Millwall.

Warnock was non-committal on whether he would press ahead with a move for the 16-cap international, who can play both at full-back and centre-back, but said he was seeking to possibly reinforce the Under-23 side at Cardiff with some new additions.

But, having been left satisfied with the strength of his squad since a busy summer of arrivals, Warnock insisted he is in no rush.

On Feltscher, who has played club football in Switzerland, Italy and Spain, Warnock said: “He’s been here this week and we’ve looked at him and we’ve been talking to him.

“He flies back home now, but we’ve had a good look at him after he was recommended to me by Harry Redknapp. If we thought he could have improved squad we’d have a look at it, but at the moment we’re getting games out of the way and we won’t be doing anything in near future.

“But, while we’re always trying to improve the squad, it’s difficult because if I had this squad till the end of season I’d be quite happy.”
