Spiritual Lady to strike Newmarket

-

SPIRITUAL LADY appears to have been found the perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways in the Quy Mill Hotel & Spa Conditions Stakes at Newmarket.

A Listed winner last season for Charlie McBride, she was held up by a host of niggling problems in the first half of the season which prevented her from making the track.

She has been restricted to just two outings in 2017 and at first glance there has not been much encouragement.

However, she showed up well for a long way on her return at York in a Listed race before blowing up to finish last of seven and she was badly hampered and allowed to come home without having a hard race at Newmarket last time.

The way this race is framed suits her ideally and if she is to add to her winning tally, she will not have a better chance of doing so.

Alwasmiya might be the answer to a tricky looking Irish Stallion Farms EBF ``Bosra Sham’’ Fillies’ Stakes.

Trained by Simon Crisford, she showed up well on her debut when fourth at Newcastle and stepped up on that when winning at Nottingham.

There appears to be no standout filly in this Listed contest so given she should improve more than most, she has sound claims.

Swiss Storm began the season being talked of in terms of a Classic candidate but ends the year running in the National Heritage Centre Anniversary Handicap.

Trained by David Elsworth, the Frankel colt was an impressive winner of his second start and was subsequently bought by Godolphin.

Down the field in the Dante, he was off the track until last month, when he finished third of five at Epsom.

He now runs off a mark 86 and should be capable off that kind of perch.

Elegiac went into plenty of notebooks after his debut at Lingfield and looks the one to be on in the 32Red.com/ EBF Novice Median Auction Stakes at Newcastle.

Making his debut over 10 furlongs, the penny only dropped in the closing stages and he powered home.

He should sharpen up mentally more than physically for that, but it is slightly surprising to see him dropped in trip.

It was clear Dan Skelton was just biding time over hurdles last year with Some Invitation and he could have a good season this year.

Due to make his debut over fences in the Get Daily Tips At racinguk.com Novices’ Chase at Wetherby, the three-mile trip seems sure to suit, too.

Winner of two of his four races last season, he looks an exciting prospect.

River Wylde looks a promising recruit to chasing for Nicky Henderson and

reappears in the King Beginners’ Chase at Uttoxeter.
