WEDDINGS Special day filled with laughter for Valleys couple

-

The couple: Emma-Jayne Morgan, 26, an actor, and Michael Jones, 29, an alternative education manager. The couple are from Tonypandy and now live together in London. The venue: The wedding was held at De Courcey’s Manor, Cardiff, on Friday, August 25. How they met: Emma-Jayne said: “We vaguely knew of each other from attending the same schools but all I knew of him was that he was really tall and played football.

“We’ve both agreed that we are glad we didn’t know each other earlier, as we probably wouldn’t have thought much of each other.”

Michael noticed Emma-Jayne in a local shop in 2011 and then they started chatting online. The proposal: Michael proposed in November 2015.

Emma-Jayne said: “He persuaded me to go for a walk up the mountain overlooking our homes as we had done it a couple of years earlier, despite the weather being pretty rubbish. I was taking a picture – he was behind me and went ‘Em!.’ I turned around and he was down on one knee. It was perfect. We don’t get to go home all that often so to propose to me overlooking our valley was amazing.” The wedding: Even though the weather wasn’t great on the run-up to the wedding, the weather on the day was beautiful.

Emma-Jayne said: “We didn’t see each other at all the day before, but he sent me a beautiful box of gifts – all my favourite things and a book of our photos and memories.

“Mike thought he was getting to the venue in a minibus but his groomsmen had arranged a limousine for him as a surprise. “It was a day full of laughter and fun. “It was also our friend’s 30th birthday so we got an embarrassing picture on a cake and sang to him at the end of the speeches.”

The couple then spent the night at De Courcey’s Manor. The honeymoon: The couple jetted off to Sorrento, Italy, for 11 nights.

Emma-Jayne said it was the most “perfect” place for a honeymoon.
