Celebrations are a ‘knock out’ for a couple of bluebirds fans

EVERYONE loves a last-minute comeback.

And the hardy 1,383 Cardiff City fans who braved the cold temperatures at Reading on Monday were certainly treated to some late drama.

They looked like they enjoyed it too, despite the boisterous nature of the celebrations.

Pictures show the wild scenes in the Cardiff end when Lee Tomlin’s stoppage time equaliser made it 2-2 at the Madejski Stadium.

So wild, in fact, that it left two fans knocked out.

Cardiff fan Lewis Jones, who shot a video of the celebrations, fortunately explained how everyone emerged without injury despite the dramatic and riotous scenes.

He said: “I was split up from my mates in the ground and when I seen them when we scored the second and I jumped down the one row then fell the other two, and then I got knocked out,” before adding “everyone’s fine”.

“I’ve got to put it (the celebration) up there with one of my best yet, not too far behind Bristol City away last season.”

The video drew a huge response on social media, including from Cardiff winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing who tweeted to Lewis: “Lol be careful man, hope you’re ok.”

Cardiff fans have enjoyed their fair share of late goals this season, with last gasp equalisers at Fulham and at home to Sheffield Wednesday along with Monday night’s dramatic leveller.

Neil Warnock’s side are developing a reputation for comebacks and the goals from Tomlin and Bennett to claw back a point against Reading could prove vital in the promotion chase.

Let’s just hope their fans stay safe — while enjoying the celebrations at the same time.
