Udontdodou looks to be a Guest star

-

RICHARD GUEST has made no secret of the fact he regards Udontdodou as the best horse he has ever trained and he can keep up his winning run at Lingfield.

Guest is eyeing a trip to America with this five-yearold next month, so victory in the Betway Sprint Handicap would certainly contribute a nice chunk to his airfare.

Udontdodou has struck up quite the love affair with Chelmsford, winning three of his last four starts there, rising from a mark of 87 last June to his current perch of 102.

He did well to come from off the pace to win on his most recent outing at the Essex track, accounting for the admirable Boom The Groom by half a length over five furlongs.

The Fastnet Rock gelding is equally as capable over six furlongs, too, and while he has done the majority of his winning at Chelmsford, victories at Thirsk and Windsor show he is not just a onetrick pony.

Music Major ended 2017 in decent form and he can pick up the baton again in the Betway Handicap.

He has won two of his three starts over this 10-furlong trip, suffering a twoand-a-half-length defeat last time out when not enjoying the clearest of passages in what was a bit of a confused race.

A further 2lb hike for that defeat seems a touch harsh, but Music Major is in good form and will certainly appreciate conditions.

High Seas hails from the family of Fantastic Light and while she has been a bit disappointing so far, she can finally get off the mark in the 32Redsport.com Handicap at Newcastle.

Hugo Palmer switches up to a mile here after appearing to just lack an extra gear when fourth over seven furlongs at Wolverhampton.

The handicapper has also dropped her a couple of pounds, which is a further positive factor.

Nomorecalls can make it third time lucky in the 32Redsport.com Novice Stakes.

He appeared in need of the outing when beaten less than a length at Lingfield on his return from 213 days off the track at the start of the month and should strip fitter for that.
