The couple Andrew Michael Symes, from Llanrumney in Cardiff, and Charlotte Isabelle Treharne Symes, from Sully in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Andrew is a retail shift manager and Charlotte is a hairdresser. The couple now live together in Barry. The wedding The couple married at the Angel Hotel in Cardiff on Friday, October 13. Both the ceremony and the reception were held at the venue. How they met The couple met at college.

Andrew was studying music and Charlotte was studying art but they didn’t start dating until two years later.

“Charlotte’s hair was the first thing I noticed,” said Andrew. “It was red and wild.” The proposal Andrew popped the question on the first day the couple moved into their rented house – but it didn’t quite go as smoothly as he first planned.

He said: “I was going to ask her on the first night but Charlotte had other ideas about staying back at her mother’s house. So in the car journey I had to quickly get out of the car, run around to the driver’s door, and drop to one knee to ask her to marry me.” ‘Something blue’ The couple had a very memorable wedding as the bride had a very special ‘something blue.’

Andrew said the wedding was a “wonderful and magical” day – and the couple shared a moment that they will never forget.

He said: “One of the highlights was when my new wife and I went onto the Cardiff Arms pitch at half time at the Blues v Lyon game. Then Charlotte announced she would get the Blues squad to sign the dress and we would auction it off for Cancer Research.”

The surprise added a unique, but wonderful, twist to the couple’s special day. The honeymoon The couple flew out to Turkey for a relaxing break away after the wedding.

It was the perfect way for them to start their journey together as husband and wife.
