Wilsons Auctions Newport gets the new year off to a great start

-

WILSONS Auctions Newport has got the new year off to a great start following its recent acquisition and introduction of new auctions.

Not only did the weekly car auctions prove successful with customers as the result of investment into new stock but the addition of plant and machinery and the unreserved government auction created a lot of additional activity for the branch.

The plant and machinery auction, earlier in the month, proved a great success with more than 400 lots attracting both physical and online bidders. All lots were sold over the course of the auction with a busy auction hall and a number of online bidders achieving a notable hammer total.

The unreserved government auction also proved very successful for Wilsons Auctions Newport, opening the branch up to new customers across the country, who were attracted to the more luxurious items such as designer goods and high-value cars.

The weekly car auctions will continue on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6pm and Friday at 11.30am with a regular supply of new stock to enhance the offering.

Wilsons Auctions is the UK and Ireland’s largest independent auction company with 17 sites across its group including the recently acquired Newport branch.

The family-owned business’ acquisition of Newport Auctions will help to expand Wilsons Auctions presence across Wales, along with its Queensferry branch in the north. Future growth plans will see the company invest further into the local area and create further job opportunities.

Wilsons Auctions holds more than 1,000 auctions annually across its branches, auctioning everything from cars and vans, plant and machinery and property to general goods, as well as more luxurious items including planes, yachts, gold bars, supercars, designer goods and prestigious watches.

Under the new management of Wilsons Auctions, a significant amount of investment will be made into the branch bringing fresh car stock for bidders from Eastern Western Motor Group, Money way, Pinetree Car Superstore and local authority vehicles.

Talking of the transition, Annmarie Jones, branch manager of Wilsons Auctions Newport, said: “Already established as one of the leading car auctions in south Wales, having sold approximately 20,000 used vehicles annually, Wilsons Auctions is looking to generate an enhanced experience for bidders by offering fresh new car stock in the coming months for customers and clients.

“As a result of Wilsons Auctions law enforcement contracts, there will be a further expansion for the branch, which will have a positive impact on the local community with job creations and investment. Following the success of our January auctions, we look forward to seeing a more varied offering of auctions for our customers in the coming months.”
