Claims dog poo was left on cars in parking row

-

DOG poo was smeared on the door handles of two cars while their owners were at work, it has been claimed.

The owners believe they have been targeted in a bid to deter them from parking on the street.

Hairdressers Becky Evans and Jessica Williams claim they made the unsavoury discovery when they returned to their cars after working in Bridgend town centre.

Becky, 22, claimed the dog mess incident came just two days after she was shouted at by a resident and three months after a note was left on her car.

She said: “I said to Jess ‘what’s that on my car door?’

“Then we put a torch on it and saw it on her car as well.

“I thought how disgusting. Who thinks of something like that? It’s awful.”

The pair, who both work at Clippaz, said it is too expensive for them to use car parks, which is why they use Mackworth Street, a residential road just outside the town centre.

Short stay council car parks in Bridgend charge £6 for four hours and over, while long stay car parks charge £3 for more than three hours.

The majority of Mackworth Street is not covered by double yellow lines and it is not part of a permit-parking zone.

But signs at the entrance do state that vehicles are prohibited except for access.

Jessica, 20, said: “Bridgend town is not the liveliest, busiest town.

“We are all working to try to keep it going and it’s too expensive to pay to park in the car parks.

“I’m angry more than anything because I work hard for what I have.”
