YOUR PETS Morgan loves to run, cuddles and playing with a ball

Pet’s name: Morgan. Breed: Bull lurcher. Age: Four. Owner: Fiona Heslop, 46, and her husband Nathan from Barry. Owner’s story: “Morgan came from Cardiff Dogs Home a year ago in August.

“Previously we had gone there the year before and got a dog but she passed away from cancer.

“When we were ready to get another dog, we went straight to look at lurchers.

“We took out two dogs and we took Morgan out twice and then decided we wanted him.

“My daughter Isobel was in Kent so, on our way home from picking her up, we went to pick Morgan up. We stopped at Cardiff Dogs Home on the way home.

“It was emotional as he was so lovely but you could see his coat wasn’t the best.

“We were looking forward to giving him a nice way of life. He had only been at the home for two weeks.

“He was found wandering around Cardiff docks. He has got a few scars, and he’s still got them, but he’s lush.

“We ended up with a really big boy. He is really a big puppy.

“He loves sharing his toys, and he likes playing with his ball.

“Usually you only get one chance to throw the ball and then you have to chase him for it.

“He also likes cuddles. Sometimes he gets in your face because he wants you to throw his ball.

“We don’t have any other dogs. The majority of the time, I think he prefers being the only dog.

“He’s such a big dog so he’s used to being the biggest, so if he comes across another dog who is bigger, he doesn’t like it.

“He also loves to run. If he hasn’t got a ball, he will run circles around you. It’s the puppy in him coming out.”
