TRIBUTES ‘Perfect wife and mother’ Lynne was a talented baker

-

A “PERFECT wife and mother” has been remembered for her talent for baking and ability to always raise a laugh.

Lynne Maria Propert died on January 28 at the age of 59.

Born one of four children, Lynne grew up and lived in Ely, Cardiff, and attended Glan Ely High School.

From there she took on a series of jobs starting at Johnson’s sweet factory and the Top Rank club in Cardiff before moving on to work as a barmaid at Culverhouse Cross.

At the age of 26, Lynne met her husband Chris in what was to become a whirlwind romance that lasted a lifetime.

They had their first date on St Patrick’s Day, and the pair became engaged less than a month later on April 1 before marrying on June 7 at the Church of the Resurrection in Ely.

Described fondly as the “boss” of the family, Lynne’s memory will continue through her children Lisa, Adam, Steven and Kirsty and grandchildren Callum, Thomas, Yasmin, Sophia and Kobi.

She is also fiercely missed by her beloved bichon frise Barni who would refuse to leave her side.

The whole family hold treasured memories of holidays to Spain as well as camping trips to Narbeth and Cornwall where Lynne wouldn’t fail to take on her sons in football and cricket.

Known in her youth for her love of socialising and going out, the mother of four later developed a talent for baking and knack for success at online bingo.

Celebrated for their taste, her birthday, Christmas and Easter cakes became famous within the family and would be an essential for every occasion.

Described as a “perfect wife and perfect mother”, Lynne would often hold sleepovers for her grandchildren accompanied with plenty of sweets.

Her house would always be open to friends who would visit for a cup of tea and a catch-up.

After being diagnosed with cancer, the grandmother of five was determined to live to see the birth of her youngest grandchild Kobi.

Lynne’s funeral was held on February 22 at St Francis Church followed by a celebration of her life where 50 balloons with messages were release in her honour.
