Three more are arrested after alleged stabbing

POLICE have made three further arrests in connection with an alleged stabbing in Cardiff on Sunday that left three people needing hospital treatment.

Officers were called to a house in Roath at around 7.40pm to reports that two people had been stabbed.

A 17-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man were taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, with stab wounds, while a third man – aged 26 – also attended hospital with similar injuries.

All three are described as being in a stable condition, South Wales Police said on Tuesday.

A police spokeswoma­n yesterday said three further arrests have been made in connection with the incident in Inverness Place, Roath, Cardiff.

She said: “The men aged 18, 28 and 63 are in custody on suspicion of assault as the investigat­ion continues into the incident on Sunday evening.”

A 35-year-old man who was previously arrested in connection with the incident has been released without charge.

The further arrests come after armed police were called to the Roath area on Monday in connection with the incident.

Officers were seen in the area at around 6pm with a police helicopter flying above, while uniformed officers were seen in the area along with a number of police 4x4 vehicles.
