WEDDINGS White wedding for happy couple

-

The couple: Roxanne Jones and Aaron Thomas, both 27. The couple are from Tonypandy and still live in the area. Roxanne is a claims executive and Aaron is a night shift manager. The wedding: Roxanne and Aaron tied the knot on March 3 at St Thomas’s Church, Clydach Vale. This was followed by a reception at The Welcome Inn, in Tonypandy. How they met: The couple met when they were just 16.

They were both at a Tonypandy takeaway around the time of Christmas 2006.

Roxanne said: “Aaron walked in with two of my friends under his arm, who later turned out to be bridesmaids at the wedding.

“He shook my hand when we were introduced.”

Roxanne thought Aaron was a gentleman and Aaron thought Roxanne was beautiful.

They soon started dating and officially became a couple in February 2007. The proposal: Aaron proposed to Roxanne at Caerphilly Castle on February 12, 2016.

He popped the question when they were right on top of one of the castle’s towers. The wedding: The couple’s wedding day had a bit of a battle with Storm Emma but they got the help of a JCB.

The snow didn’t stop the happy pair from having a wonderful wedding.

Roxanne got ready at her mam and stepdad’s home and, to ensure she got to the church, her stepfather had to use a JCB to shovel the snow from the road leading to their house.

Meanwhile, Roxanne’s father and Aaron shovelled the snow away from outside the church.

Roxanne said: “Family and friends with 4x4s chauffeured the 14 bridesmaids, 11 members of the grooms party, the bride, the photographer and videographers to the ceremony and then on to the reception.

“We are so grateful to our amazing family and friends who did everything they could to ensure the day went ahead.

“We had a fantastic, unforgettable wedding despite the adverse weather conditions.” The honeymoon: Roxanne and Aaron plan to take a “familymoon” later this year.

They are hoping to jet off to Tenerife for a relaxing break with their son, Archard, who was born in September.
