Teenagers arrested after alleged assault

A 14-YEAR-OLD has been arrested after an alleged assault which left a man in hospital.

Police are investigat­ing after the incident in Splott, Cardiff on Wednesday afternoon.

A 14-year-old boy and two 18-yearold men have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder after the incident on Habershon Street and remain in custody.

A 25-year-old man is being treated at the University Hospital of Wales for “serious but non-life-threatenin­g injuries”.

On Wednesday residents reported armed police with riot shields on the street at about 3.20pm.

Armed officers and divisional units attended.

A spokesman said: “South Wales Police is continuing to investigat­e a serious assault in Splott which left a man in hospital.

“Armed officers were called on Habershon Street, at around 3.20pm yesterday.

“A 25-year-old man was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, where he is currently being treated for serious but non-life-threatenin­g injuries.

“Two local 18-year-old men and a 14-year-old boy, who is also from the Cardiff area, were arrested shortly after the incident on suspicion of violent disorder. They currently remain in custody.”
