BABIES ‘I feel like our little family is complete’

-

Baby’s name: Amelia May Roberts. Date and place of birth: May 20 at 3.02am at Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil. Weight: 6lb 9oz. Parents: Mum Siobhan Roberts, 31, and dad Craig Roberts, 37, of Abercynon. Mum’s story: “I didn’t suffer from morning sickness.

“I craved Welsh cakes and strawberry milkshakes.

“I was both anxious and relaxed about the birth. Only relaxed because I knew what was going to happen having already had Connor.

“We didn’t find out the sex of the baby. We had two names but Amelia didn’t look like either – her name just came to me the day after she was born. Luckily Craig liked the name too.

“Amelia was three days overdue but I was induced, in active labour for three hours and was let home from hospital the next day.

“It was a relief being allowed to take Amelia home as the doctor heard a little murmur in her heart and we had to wait until the following day for an ECG and the all clear – plus we couldn’t wait for Connor to meet his new sister properly.

“Amelia wakes two to three times a night for a feed so that’s good for a newborn.

“Some have said she looks like me but Amelia’s the image of Connor when he was born.

“I feel as if our little family is complete adding a daughter and it’s very overwhelming.

“Life has changed as we have started all over again considering Connor is nine years old but Amelia is settling in slowly and I wouldn’t change anything.”
