Friends are fundraising for family of crash victim

-

BEST friends of a mum-of-two killed in a crash on the M4 are trying to raise as much money as possible for the family of the “one in a million” mother.

Dad-of-two Timothy Peter Grace, 31, was driving a BMW X5 when it crashed near Pyle eight days ago.

He suffered serious injuries in the crash before dying in hospital the day after the one-car incident.

Sarah-Jayne Thomas, 28, was a passenger in the car. She died at the scene.

She was a mum to two young sons, Harley, nine, and Jason, six.

Her grieving friends, devastated by the loss, were moved to set up a Go Fund Me page to raise money for the family of their much-loved friend.

Natalie Hillard, 23, and Sammy-Jo Matthews, 29, have already reached their initial target since setting up the page on Saturday.

More than £1,300 had been raised by yesterday afternoon.

Natalie, from Penlan, Swansea, said: “Sarah will be missed by everyone, life won’t be the same without her, she was our best friend, we would see her every day.

“Every morning she would come round to my house. No words can describe the pain we are all feeling, Sarah was one in a million.

“Myself and Sammy are organising a raffle to add to Sarah’s Go Fund Me page, which will take place in July.”

She couldn’t believe how supportive the community has been in the past week.

She said: “Everyone in the community has been great and really helpful and supportive.

“We can’t thank everyone enough for all their support and kindness.

“We would really appreciate it if people would be able to donate any prizes for the raffle in July. We are not sure at the moment what date in July it will take place, but it will be confirmed.

“But our aim right now is to raise as much money as we can for our beautiful girl Sarah’s family at such a hard time.”

The westbound carriageway of the motorway was closed for seven hours as the cause of the incident was investigated.

In family tributes released following the crash, the family of Ms Thomas, from Penlan, said she was “the perfect little sister” and a loving mother to her sons.

Mr Grace, from Treboeth, was described as a good father to his two children, aged nine and two.
