TWENTY Nine Park Place will reopen this week under new ownership and following a £200,000 refurbishm­ent.

The new-look Twenty Nine Park Place has been taken over by the Knife & Fork group which runs The Conway in Pontcanna and The Discovery in Lakeside.

It’s the fifth and most ambitious venue from Knife & Fork Food, which also has The Pilot in Penarth and The Old Swan Inn in Llantwit Major in its portfolio.

Previous owners, Croesy Bars Ltd, closed the bar in January 2018 blaming rising business rates and had a debt of more than £2000,000 against the bar.

The refurbed bar and restaurant will open at noon today.

The extensive £200,000 refurbishm­ent has completely overhauled the interiors of the grand townhouse.

Twenty Nine Park Place will feature an open kitchen in order to provide some kitchen theatre, a large bar area, cosy drinking nooks and booth seating and a small private dining room on the first floor.

The venue has stepped away from the much-loved interiors of the group’s more suburban venues in order to execute their vision of a refined, modern day watering hole fit for one of the UKs leading cities.
