1. Listen to music and take in the sea views from Crazy Cafe

Crazy Cafe on the esplanade boasts stunning views of the seaside from its impressive bi-folding windows and the cafe comes alive on ‘speciality evenings’ offering a three-course meal followed by live music and dancing.

Watch their master chef at work in an open-plan kitchen and choose from their extensive menu, designed to suit all tastes, including freshly prepared vegetarian and vegan dishes and delicious home-made bread, cakes and pastries.

Crazy Licks is a new addition to the café, serving ice creams, frozen yogurt, ice lollies, fabulous Sundays and a knockout Knickerbocker Glory, while your favourite song plays on the jukebox.

2. Go back in time and visit the medieval village in Cosmeston

Guided tours through the medieval village at Cosmeston Lakes Country Park will inform visitors what medieval life was like in 1350, including what weapons and armour looked like, what food was cooked and eaten and how gruesome the punishments were.

And, there are plenty of opportunities to spot some rare and diverse wildlife as you walk through the park, with more than 100 hectares of meadows, woodland and water providing the perfect habitats for life to thrive.

Contact the Visitor Centre to make a booking for a guided tour on 029 2070 1678.

3. Special occasion? Find the perfect gift at Not Socks Again

You’ll find lots of gift ideas at Not Socks Again that are a little bit different.

Not Socks Again colleagues John, Helen and Fran love sourcing quirky, quality products, working with local craftmakers and artists, and stocking unusual gifts and cards, many in the Welsh language.

4. Experience the delights of Turkish cuisine at Keyif

The Turkish word keyif translates simply as pleasure, and the Turkish tradition is making the most out of small, personal moments of pleasure.

Keyif restaurant doesn’t disappoint in adopting this concept with its delicious treats of Turkish Mediterranean cuisine and a restful, calming ambience.

Visit www.keyif.co.uk to book a table, because sometimes it’s those little moments in life that really matter!

5. Move house with help from Seabreeze Estate Agents

This year’s Sunday Times study on the best places to live in the UK and Wales ranked Penarth as seventh.

The guide, based on factors such as jobs, schools and culture, as well as the judges’ own experiences of the places named, give an indicator about how much someone would be expected to pay for a new home. A first-time buyer in Penarth would be likely to pay around £140,730, which was cheaper than most of the other places on the list. A mid-market property would set you back around £326,660, while an average family home is about £527,250.

Seabreeze, an independent family run sales and letting agent, pride themselves on being part of Penarth’s fantastic community and, without the same constraints as high street agencies, it claims to offer the most competitive pricing strategies in the local housing market.

Visit www.seabreezehomes.co.uk or pop into Seabreeze Homes in Glebe Street.
