Swingers club opens doors for uninhibited

-

CARDIFF’S only permanent swingers club has just opened its doors – and the people behind the venue claim it has already attracted a lot of interest.

Called Number 19, the venue in Cardiff Bay is described as an “adult entertainment club welcoming swingers from all walks of life”.

Spanning four floors, its features include a “voyeur room” and it says it can accommodate “film shoots” and “private intimate parties”.

According to the website, the aim is to “create a warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere in which you are able to fulfil all your hidden desires and fantasies in a secure and safe environment”.

Swinging has become increasingly popular in Wales in recent years. The club opened on West Bute Street this month and says it has received a great deal of interest during its first week.

It is open to the public on Friday and Saturday but has other themed nights throughout the week.

The cost is £25 for couples and £40 for single men. Single women are able to go in for free.

Facilities include five “playrooms”, with showers and baths available for use – and there are plans in place to put a “fully functional dungeon” in the club.

The owner said: “I just saw there was a gap in the market.

“The managers are a couple who have been involved in the scene for some time. They have wanted me to open one for ages. I have been really taken aback by the reaction. We only opened last Thursday after advertising for a week.

“People have been really complimentary about the venue and how clean it is.

“At the moment it is not about turning a profit, it is about responding to what the scene is looking for and taking constructive criticism.

“Friday and Saturday we are open to the public but it is very flexible at the moment where we find out what people want. The scene seems huge in Wales.”
