City garden centre hit by fire
A GARDEN centre in Cardiff has been hit by another fire after re-opening three years ago.
Blue Diamond garden centre on Newport Road, St Mellons, was destroyed by a fire in November 2013. Very little was left of the store, then called Blooms Garden Centre, after the huge blaze.

In the early hours of Sunday, staff were made aware of a fire that had broken out in an outside bin. Although the building isn’t damaged, much of the stock in the shops is reported to be smoke damaged.
All franchises at the centre including centre reopened in Peacocks and Bonmarche will remain closed until further notice.
The Echo understands that staff at the centre are working at other garden centres for the time being.
Workers say they were made aware of the situation when they turned up for work on Sunday.
None of the franchises were available to comment.
A spokesman for Blue Diamond group said: “We are aware of a small bin fire on the outside of the premises, the cause of which is unknown. A small amount of damage had occurred to the side of the building.
“Thankfully, the fire was extinguished as our on-site video surveillance systems picked this up and alerted the emergency services. The police have been informed and are investigating the incident.
“One concession has been affected and will be closed for a short while whilst we make necessary repairs.”
A spokesman for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, said: “A call was received at 5.49am to reports of a fire at a commercial business in Trowbridge. Crews from Roath and Duffryn were mobilised to contain thefire.
“The incident has been handed over to South Wales Police.”
Retail design agency Dalziel and Pow designed and re-built the centre, which was engulfed in 35ft flames at the height of the blaze which destroyed it in 2013.
