The most expensive homes sold last month

JULY may have been dominated by the heatwave but the property market in Wales was almost as hot as the weather.

And the top 10 most expensive properties that were sold were all priced over half a million pounds.

Five homes in the list were located in and around Cardiff, three properties were in Monmouthsh­ire and the remaining two in the Brecon Beacons area.

The most expensive on the list was a double-fronted property at Michaelsto­n y Fedw, Cardiff, which sold for £810,000.

It is located within the exclusive estate of Cefn Mably Park, which unique selling points, situated within this private, gated luxury estate centred around a historic manor house on the outskirts of the capital.

The other properties in the capital to make the top 10 include one in Heol Isaf, Radyr, which was snapped up for £581,275.

If location is key, then the new owner of this detached home is close to all that Radyr village, on the outskirts of north Cardiff, can offer.

Pop to the shops to buy a drink before taking to centre court at the tennis club. Relax post-match at one of the local cafes or pubs before the kids come home from the local primary or secondary school, which are just around the corner.

Number seven on the list was a home on Windsor Avenue, Radyr, Cardiff, which had a price tag of £565,000.

Just around the corner from the primary school and golf club, this second property sold in Radyr in July is also very well positioned to easily enjoy all that this popular suburb of Cardiff has to offer.

A substantia­l double-fronted detached home, there’s plenty of space to utilise when the new owners aren’t out and about around the village.

It’s not unusal to see Began Road, or its neighbour Druidstone Road, regularly in a list of most expensive Welsh homes sold.

Completing the Cardiff contingent is a house on Sandringha­m Road, costing £553,000.

The ever-popular area of Penylan in the capital makes an appearance in the list with this end-of-terrace period property.

With a pretty outlook over Roath Mill Gardens and many original features still in place, a prime location and charming character was obviously an appealing combinatio­n for the new owner.
