Barry facing tough test as league leaders head to town

- Connah’s Quay boss Andy Morrison

BARRY Town host the JD Welsh Premier League leaders Connah’s Quay tomorrow at Jenner Park (2.30pm).

They go into the game after Kayne McLaggon’s 95th-minute headed goal gave Gavin Chesterfield’s team a wellearned point last Friday at Stebonheath Park.

Barry and their marvellous band of travelling supporters would have been upset had they not grabbed a late point from a plucky Llanelli, who had led through a James Loveridge second-minute goal.

Andy Morrison’s Nomads are the form team so far in the league with nine points from three games including a 1-0 victory over champions TNS and that proves what a difficult task lies ahead for the home team tomorrow.

Connah’s Quay are a team built on plenty of experience and can adapt to play the footballing or physical approach, and are the league’s most realistic

Cardiff Met University travel west to Richmond Park in Carmarthen tomorrow and will look to bounce back after suffering their first league defeat at home last Sunday to Caernarfon Town, 1-0.

After two wins, the Met were oddson to complete a hat-trick of victories, but the excellent visitors from North Wales produced a fine performance and ran out winners through a Nathan Craig penalty in the first half. challenger to TNS’ dominance.

Boss Christian Edwards was obviously disappointed with last Sunday’s performance, but Carmarthen is a happy hunting ground for the Archers, who are undefeated at the Old Gold’s home base.

Adam Roscrow and Charlie Corsby are still sidelined, as well as the students’ goalkeeper Will Fuller, so Edwards squad might be tested against Neil Smothers’ team, who bounced back from a 6-0 defeat at TNS last weekend by defeating Goytre (Gwent) in the Cup on Tuesday evening by 5-0
