First look at retirement village

-

THIS is the first look at plans for a new retirement village coming to Cardiff where house buyers have to be aged 70 or over to be considered getting a spot.

The Llys Isan development off TyGlas Avenue in Llanishen, will include 49 one and two-bedroom apartments, with the first properties to be up for sale in early 2019.

The development, by McCarthy and Stone, says it aims to offer occupants an independent lifestyle while also having access to to domestic and personal assistance to help them with their day-to-day lives.

This will include an on-site restaurant with freshly-cooked meals, a homeowners’ lounge, landscaped garden, and a guest suite.

There will also be a management team on site 24 hours a day and a security entrance system.

Kevin Sims, regional sales and marketing director for McCarthy and Stone south west, said: “Retirement Living Plus developments offer homeowners the opportunity to downsize and make the most of their retirement years; living as independently as possible for as long as possible, and surrounded by like-minded individuals.

“We have already received significant levels of interest from local retirees who are considering a move to a lower maintenance property in Llanishen; and, now we have released a CGI to reveal how the sensitivelydesigned building will look when complete, we expect interest in Llys Isan to continue to build.

“I would therefore urge all those interested in downsizing to the development to register for updates to ensure they do not miss out.”

The Llys Isan development will neighbour a second McCarthy and Stone development called Llys Faith which are available to people aged 60 and over. It will comprise 36 one and two-bedroom apartments. These are already available to buy off plan and 75% of these have been sold.
