WEDDINGS Facebook friends tie the knot

The couple: Aimee Williams, 30, adviser at the Department for Work and Pensions, originally from Holyhead, and Simon Williams, 31, assembler for Renishaw Engineerin­g, originally from Bridgend.

The couple now live in Pontygwait­h. The venue: The ceremony and the reception were held at Ty Newydd Country Hotel on September 22. How they met: Simon said: “We met online via Facebook. Our first date was to the cinema. We’ve been together for six years.” The proposal: Simon said: “I popped the question to Aimee on January 6, 2013. She was teary and she said yes.” The wedding: The colour scheme of wedding was dusty pink and rose gold with a traditiona­l theme. Aimee’s wedding dress came from WEB2B.

The bridesmaid­s were dressed by Quiz Clothing.

Hair and make-up was by Louise Satherlay and Leah Davies respective­ly.

The groomsmen were dressed by Formally Yours.

The cake was made and decorated by family. Simon said: “The day was saved at the last minute by Philip Warren Photograph­y, as our original photograph­er failed to show up.

“Philip turned up with about five minutes to spare and started straight away. I’d just like to say, what an absolute gentleman and a lifesaver.”

The couple’s first dance was Celine Dion’s I’m Your Lady.

The evening’s entertainm­ent was provided by Obsession Entertainm­ent and Gary LeVell. The honeymoon: The couple have yet to decide where to go for their honeymoon.
