Rose is a worry after injury in Spurs’ win
TOTTENHAM Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has issued a worrying injury update concerning the fitness of Danny Rose.
The North London side continued their positive start to the domestic campaign after they beat Cardiff City 1-0 at Wembley.
The left-back was replaced in the 88th minute by Ben Davies and the Spurs manager confirmed that he suffered a reoccurrence of the groin injury he felt during the Huddersfield Town game.
The defender completed that match, but was rested by his manager in the Champions League defeat to Barcelona in midweek.
Rose has been called up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad ahead of international fixtures against Croatia and Spain as they continue their UEFA Nations League campaign.
But Pochettino has confirmed that whilst he is hoping the problem is not too serious, Rose would have to be assessed by the England medical staff for further examination.
“It was the same as it was after Huddersfield, a problem in his groin,” Pochettino said in his post-match press conference.
“He felt it again. We hope that nothing important but of course we need to assess.
“He needs to go to the national team and see what happened.
“He needs to check in with the national team.”
The Lilywhites have had their joint best start to a Premier League season after eight matches with 18 points.
