Let’s get the party started
Wales longest-running Italian restaurant set to host a major event for its anniversary
WALES’ longest-running independent Italian establishment is hosting a celebratory extravaganza in aid of their 35 year anniversary this year. Giovanni’s Restaurant Group opened their first restaurant in 1983, and this year they are taking the anniversary celebrations to a whole new level by hosting a huge party – and everyone’s welcome.
The event will showcase all the achievements of the small business and its owner, Giovanni Malacrino, throughout the years. It will be a special event for Giovanni. He said: “We have achieved so much in 35 years. I want to host this party to thank all the people who have helped us along the way.
“As well as reminiscing about all the exciting adventures we have had, we will also be looking forward to the future. There will be a whole load of exciting announcements at the event.”
The red carpet event will be taking place at the Marriott Hotel on October 28.
The party will boast delicious food, a champagne reception, entertainment and an exclusive look at the Giovanni’s 35 Year Celebration movie.
Joining Giovanni at the event will be a number of his celebrity friends, who have become fond visitors of his restaurants throughout the years. He has had the likes of Sir Tom Jones, Ed Sheeran, Luciano Pavarotti and many more pay visits to his establishments.
Tickets are £50 each or £450 for a table of 10 and are available to purchase on the EventBrite website or email pressmanager@ giovanniscardiff.co.uk. All tickets include a champagne cocktail on arrival, a three-course Italian-style meal and free entry and an Espresso Martini cocktail on arrival at 10 Mill Lane. Giovanni’s Restaurant Group has always been a long-running success story for independent companies, winning copious amounts of awards including the Best Multiple Operator at last year’s Welsh Italian Awards, beating a number of large national chain restaurants.
The restaurant group was also named one of the most influential small companies in the UK in 2017. This achievement led to Giovanni being invited to 10 Downing Street to receive a special recognition for his dedication towards running and utilising small businesses.
As well as winning awards, Giovanni’s restaurant on The Hayes has been a filming location for BBC hit drama Sherlock.
It has also been the official restaurant for feeding the Street Pastors for several years.
Seats at the event are limited, so be sure to get your ticket to attend the party of the year.
