THE daughter of a woman who was brutally murdered has “no more fight” left after learning one of the killers is allowed out of prison.

Shirley Oliver was beaten, strangled, stamped on and left for dead when she was attached by two brothers.

Every bone in her body was broken in the horrific attack and brothers Christopher and Stuart Jones were handed life sentences for murder.

Thirteen years after the attack, Christopher Jones was released.

The family have now learned that Stuart Jones is allowed supervised days out of prison.

Shirley’s daughter Stephanie Davis, 34, said: “Last February, just before my mum’s anniversary, they let us know the day before [that Christopher Jones would be released]. So probation said they would be more datesensitive with letting us know, but their timing is really inconsiderate.”

Stephanie said her auntie received a telephone call on Tuesday and was told that Stuart Jones was allowed supervised visits.

“I was just disgusted. I’m just really angry. I have got no more fight in me. I have been through all of the hurt again and it’s never been for us – it’s always been for them.”

Christopher Jones was 21 when he took part in the “callous and coldblooded killing” with his older brother Stuart, then 31, in Canton, Cardiff .

The pair were later jailed at Cardiff Crown Court for killing Shirley.

Stephanie said previously: “Those two monsters ended my beautiful mother’s life in the most brutal, sadistic way. She did not stand a chance against them. All I know is that the pain never, ever goes away – it is a life sentence that will never end for me and my brother and sister.”

The mum-ofthree said that since Christopher Jones was released from prison she has been contacted by a member of the public showing pictures of him drinking at a pub in the Swansea area.

On Thursday Stephanie attended the Wales v Spain football match at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

She said: “My mum loved going to the Wales game – and she should have been there too. They [Christopher and Simon] are celebrating now and she’s not here. I just think it’s a big joke.”

She added: “I was so upset we left the game early.” Wednesday would have been Shirley’s birthday and Stephanie said the family visited the cemetery and held a small gettogether.

The Jones brothers were arrested the day after Shirley’s murder on February 5, 2005. A Prison Service spokesperson said: “This was a tragic case and our deepest sympathies remain with the family and friends of Shirley Oliver. Shirley Oliver’s daughter Stephanie Davis

“All offenders must meet strict criteria and pass a full risk assessment before being considered for day release and we’re legally obliged to ensure life-sentence prisoners have the chance to demonstrate they’re safe for release.

“Over 99% of temporary releases are completed successfully and most failures do not involve offending. Those who break the rules of day release can spend a lot longer behind bars.”

Transfer to open conditions, from where a temporary licence is possible, is only done after a full risk assessment made by the independent parole board.

On release, prisoners sentenced to life will be on licence for life and subject to supervision and a strict set of conditions.

Any breaches of licence conditions or supervision requirements mean they can be sent back to prison.
