■■One World Week 2018 is marked by VSO Internatio­nal with a fundraisin­g curry evening. On Saturday, October 20, 7pm, in the Pontcanna Scout Hall, Fields Park Road, Pontcanna, Cardiff CF11 9LB. ■■ There will be a coffee morning/ Christmas bazaar on Saturday, October 20, between 10am and noon, in the Canolfan, Beulah Road, Rhiwbina, Cardiff, in aid of Marie Curie Holme Tower, Penarth. Sale of cakes, books, handmade greeting cards, crafts. Admission 50p.

■■South Wales Postcard Club holds autumn collectors fair at Penylan Community Centre, Cardiff CF23 5HW on Saturday, October 20, 10am-3.30pm. Dealers will be selling and buying postcards, stamps, books. Free valuations. Admission £1 (children accompanie­d, free).

■■Friends of Hailey Park are carrying out conservati­on work on Sunday, October 28, and Sunday, November 11 (the last one for 2018). Volunteer helpers are asked to meet at Radyr Road car park, 12.45pm-1pm. All welcome (children must be accompanie­d by an adult). Free refreshmen­ts and tools. Tel: 0783653225­8.

■■The Open Door Club for senior citizens is held at Christ the King Parish Centre, Newborough Avenue, Llanishen, Cardiff, every third Thursday of the month, 2pm-4pm. Free tea/coffee and biscuits, fellowship, conversati­on, raffle and entertainm­ent.

■■Rhiwbina Bridge Club, Lon Ucha, CF14 6HL meet in the Rhiwbina Memorial hall for friendly bridge every Monday at 1pm and Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 7pm. You will need to be there 10 minutes before start. New members very welcome. Partner can be provided Monday afternoon and evening. Includes tea/coffee.
