-

A NEW Bridgend gift card is set to be launched, in a campaign aimed at retaining more money within the town and promoting local businesses.

CF31 BID, was set up in 2016 and aims to raise nearly £500,000 of investment for Bridgend town centre over three years, with plans to develop the town.

The independent gift card is the first of its kind in the town, with the goal of improving trade in the town centre and economy.

Justin Jenkins, manager of CF31 BID, said: “With the card being available at a wide variety of sums, ranging from £5 to £500, it’s a win-win for all concerned.

“Not only is the card the perfect gift for a loved one, it’s also fantastic for larger businesses in the area to use as staff incentives and really feel that it will prove extremely popular for both customers and businesses alike.” supporting the local

A network of nearly 60 shops have already signed up to the pre-paid mastercard, with shops, restaurants and bar all backing the initiative, which will see 100% of the money spent given back to businesses.

CF31 BID hopes to save businesses money, develop a retail start-up scheme to fill empty units and more.

The gift card will be available from Saturday and more information is available online at www.bridgendgiftcard.co.uk.
