Twitter handle: Rahul isn’t on Twitter, which is unusual for a Bake Off contestant, but if he wins this could change

Star Baker: 2 Hollywood handshakes: 2 THE 30-year-old research scientist got his first Hollywood handshake in Cake Week (episode 2), for his ginger cake.

Paul admitted it was the first time he has shaken a contestant’s hand during a showstopper challenge.

But fellow contestants Ruby and Dan also received the coveted accolade. It led to viewers dismissing Paul’s excessive handshaking as frivolous.

Cake Week was also the first time that the Rotherham-based contestant was crowned Star Baker, thanks to his two-tiered chocolate cake.

His second Hollywood handshake came in Pastry Week, after Paul described his samosas as “faultless”.

Best moment:

DURING Bread Week, Rahul’s mango and chutney Chelsea buns were called “perfect” by the judges, with Paul even calling him a “little genius”.

He also won over viewers when revealed that he “bakes regularly to make new friends”.

Chances of winning:

RAHUL is arguably the break-out star of the series, and has earned himself a large fan base, due to his sweet nature and his eagerness to please the judges.

However, last night’s episode ended with a preview of the final, and it suggested Rahul is going to be in for a tough time.

“Please don’t collapse. Please don’t collapse,” the baker pleads, as he worryingly peers at what’s happening in the oven.
