■■The next meeting of the Cardiff Diabetes UK Cymru Group is on Wednesday, November 7, at 7.30pm in the Bethel Whitchurch Community Hall, off Penlline Road, Whitchurch, Cardiff, CF14 2AA. This month’s guest speaker is Mr Liam Roberts-O’Sullivan. There will be the chance to ask questions and talk to members about any concerns or tips about diabetes. ■■Parkinson’s Cafe CF5 is scheduled for Wednesday, November 7, 10.30am-12.30pm, at Ely & Caerau Community Hub, Cowbridge Road West, Cardiff, CF5 5BQ. ■■ National Safeguardi­ng Week runs from November 12 until 16 and, as part of events taking place during the week, Cardiff West Neighbourh­ood Watch Associatio­n has arranged two crime prevention and safety awareness roadshows. The first is at Christchur­ch Church Hall, Lake Road North, Lakeside, on Wednesday, November 14, and the second is at Ararat Baptist Church, Whitchurch Common, Whitchurch, on Thursday, November 15. Both events will be open to members of the public between 11am and 2pm and admission is free. The following organisati­ons will have display tables at the events: South Wales Police, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, British Transport Police, Neighbourh­ood Watch, Welsh Water, Victim Support, Telecare Cardiff, Care & Repair Handyvan and Cardiff and Vale Regional Safeguardi­ng Board. Please come along and support us and make use of the wealth of knowledge and experience available on the day.
