DINING OPTIONS

■ Club dining: Dine at the same time and table each night at either 6.30pm or 8.30pm and enjoy the same company.

■ Freedom dining: Turn up at selected restaurants anytime you choose between 6pm and 9.30pm, with whoever you like.

■ Select dining: Pay a supplementary price for a meal. The select restaurants are Sindu, Epicurean, the Glass House and the Beach House.

■ Casual dining: It’s casual. Eat at the waterside, choose poolside snacks, or order room service.

PORTS OF CALL

■ MADEIRA: I loved Madeira. First on the list was to take a cable car to the Botanical gardens. It was an amazing way to enjoy the views, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re afraid of heights. A must-do is the Wicker Toboggan Sled Ride. Basically, you pay 30 euros for two people to push you down a hill. It was quite the adventure and if you’re not up for a wild ride, they’ll go nice and slow for you.

■ LA PALMA: We decided to just explore the shops. Some great small coffee places here too.

■ GRAN CANARIA: We found lovely restaurants by the water where we indulged in some lovely food and, of course, local wine.

■ LANZAROTE: There wasn’t much we were interested in seeing here, having been before, so again we enjoyed the delights of the local bars.

■ LISBON: This was my favourite spot. I absolutely loved this place, full of great shopping, gorgeous restaurants and lots to do, I loved it so much, I’ve planned another trip there.
