TRIED & TESTED
OUR TESTERS GIVE THEIR VERDICT ON FIVE AUTUMN LIPSTICKS
Wet n Wild Megablast Liquid Catsuit £5, in eight shades
I TRIED this without having an idea about the price and I truly thought it was a designer lipstick. It dried quickly (you have to get it on fast), looked and felt velvety, and the deep red shade Behind The Bleachers (right) got me a few compliments. Lasted all morning without a top-up, too.
Bourjois Lip Duo Sculpt £7.99, in six shades
I WASN’T sure about the angular tip but it was easier to get a defined lip shape than with a classic bullet.
I didn’t love the two fuchsia shades, the tones didn’t blend flatteringly, but the Rouge Tango (right) looked glossy and pigmented. The colour just didn’t last long.
Buxom PillowPout Creamy Plumping Lip Powder
£15 in 10 shades
LOVE this! The powder goes on so easily and quickly, with a soft, flattering, blurred-out finish that means you don’t need to be precise about your outline. It’s non-drying, and lasts really well without smudging. So Spicy (right) is my fave new daytime shade.
Shiseido Modern Matte Powder Lipstick £25, in 24 shades
THIS transferred so easily onto my lips. The pigment is amazing and the finish is somewhere between a gloss and a velvet. Huge shade choice as well and I love the deep nude Disrobed and the bordeaux, Dark Fantasy (right). What’s not to love?
L’Oréal Color Riche Glitter Fever Lipstick
£8.99, in three shades
SOMETIMES gold flecked formulas don’t show up when you put them on but this lippy goes on with a lovely metallic sheen (it doesn’t look like a glitter at all actually, and all the better for that). I will definitely wear orange-red Paris Burning (right) for party season
