■■Parkinson’s Café CF23 is on today, November 19, 10.30am to 12.30pm, at Rhydypenna­u Library, Llandennis Road, Cardiff CF23 6EG. People affected by Parkinson’s, their family, carers and friends are welcome. Parkinson’s Café CF3 is on tomorrow, November 20, 11am-12.30pm, at St Mellons HYB, Crickhowel­l Road, St Mellons, Cardiff CF3 0EX. Please note the cafe is back in the refurbishe­d HYB – just across the road from the Enterprise Centre. Local contact for both groups is Roger Harrison (07719 669 458).

■■All are welcome to attend the Vale of Glamorgan Diabetes UK Voluntary Group tomorrow, November 20, at the Board Room, Llandough Hospital, Penarth. 7.309pm. The speaker will be Dr Lindsay George.

■■Parklands Care Home, Newport Road, Bedwas, Caerphilly, is having its Christmas fayre on Saturday, November, 24, at 3pm. There will be cakes, jewellery, nearly new, cards, Christmas decoration­s made by residents, bric-a-brac, toys, books, DVDs for sale, a bottle stall, huge raffle and various other stalls. Admission is free and refreshmen­ts will also be on sale. Santa Claus will also be paying a visit. All proceeds are going to the residents’ fund and are used to pay for shows, trips out, Christmas gifts and other treats.

■■The Gwent Archives Christmas lecture – “David Lloyd George, the truth against the world” – will be given by Professor Russell Deacon. It will take place at Gwent Archives, Steelworks Road, Ebbw Vale NP23 6AA, on Thursday, December 13, 2-3pm. Prof Deacon is a lecturer at Coleg Gwent and is also chairman of the Lloyd George Society. ■■Rhiwbina Bridge Club, Lon Ucha, CF14 6HL meet in the Rhiwbina Memorial hall for friendly bridge every Monday at 1pm and Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 7pm. You will need to be there 10 minutes before start. New members very welcome. Partner can be provided Monday afternoon and evening. Includes tea/coffee.
