■Rozmogz Reborn Cat Rescue is holding a Christmas fayre on Saturday, November 24, at St Luke’s Church, 561 Cowbridge Road East, CF5 1BD. From 2pm until 4pm. Father Christmas will be arriving at 2.30pm. Bring children to meet him – £2 and each child will receive a present. Tombola, raffle, lots of new items for sale, toys, stocking fillers, brica-brac, cupcakes, handmade Xmas cards and birthday cards. Refreshmen­ts being served.

■Cabaret night is on at the Earl Haig Club (next to the main car park in Whitchurch) on Saturday, November 24. There will be an artist, some bingo and a raffle and a large dance floor to dance the night away. Doors open at 7.30pm and entrance is £3.

■South Wales Geologists Associatio­n’s lecture with Andrew Bloodworth from the British Geological Survey is taking place on Saturday, November 24, at 11am. He will speak on the subject of “The secret life of your mobile phone”. The meeting begins at 11am in the South Wing of Cardiff University’s main building, Park Place (https://www.cardiff.ac. uk/__data/assets/pdf_ file/0007/477160/Main-BuildingGr­ound-Floor.pdf), and refreshmen­ts will be served from about 10.15am. ■On Sunday, November 25, there is a Christmas fayre at The Cornerston­e, opposite St David’s Cathedral, Charles Street, Cardiff, from 12.30pm to 3pm. Cakes, chutney, DVDs, CDs, bric-a-brac, chocolates and sweets, books, Irish coffee, soft toys, bottle stall, crafts, etc. Admission free. Proceeds to cathedral.

■Llanrumney 50+ Speakers Club meets every Tuesday morning at the John Reynolds Centre (off Ball Road), Llanrumney, CF3 5NX. From 10am to 11.45am, cost £2 including tea/coffee. Friendly welcome awaits. Tel: 029 2030 0078.
