■■ A special festive play event for children is taking place in Merthyr this weekend. The group, based at Theatr Soar in Pontmorlai­s, will be running the Christmas sessions tomorrow, with youngsters able to sing festive songs and play with different textures such as tinsel in the multi-sensory event. Santa is even set to make a special visit. Sessions start at 9.30am for babies, with sessions for toddler and older children later in the morning, and cost £4 each. ■■There is a free concert of Christmas music played by the Barry Brass Band at St John the Baptist Church, Cardiff city centre, tomorrow, December 1, 10am-11.30am. There will also be the chance to buy charity Christmas cards and stocking fillers. All welcome.

■■A grand nearly new sale is taking place tomorrow, December 1, at St Martin’s Church, Albany Road, Cardiff. From noon until 2pm. Clothes, books, jewellery, accessorie­s and much more. Refreshmen­ts available.

■■The Parish of Llanishen will be holding a Christmas fair at 10.30am tomorrow, December 1, in the parish hall, Heol Hir Road, Llanishen, Cardiff. Entry 30p. Lots of stalls including cakes, children’s toys and games, bric-a-brac, toiletries, bottles, books, etc.

■■Beulah Christmas Bazaar is being held in the Canolfan Rooms, Beulah Road, Rhiwbina, tomorrow, December 1, 10am to 12.30pm. Homemade cakes, toiletries, jewellery, toys, games, bric-a-brac and various stalls. Refreshmen­ts available. Proceeds raised will go to Save The Children Fund.

■■The Parkinson’s Café CF14 Support Group will be meeting on Tuesday, December 4, 11am-1pm, at Whitchurch Community Centre, Old Church Road, Whitchurch, Cardiff CF14 1AD. Join for a cuppa and a chat. New members, family and friends warmly welcomed. The local contact is Jo Taylor 07946 977509.
