BEST OF THE REST
THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW BBC1, 10.35pm
AFTER Cheryl’s performance on The X Factor a few weeks ago, she might be feeling pretty nervous about tonight.
There was a backlash after her comeback stint on the talent show, with viewers branding it “disastrous”, so she will be keen to keep the critics at bay. She will chat to Graham and also perform her new single Love Made Me Do It.
Also on the sofa is actor and comedian Steve Carell, currently starring in Welcome to Marwen. Dawn French will tell all about her panto debut as the Wicked Queen in Snow White at the London Palladium. Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan will be on hand to promote his latest movie, Creed 2. And Luther actress Ruth Wilson talks about her new BBC drama Mrs Wilson.
ALONE AT HOME Channel 4, 8pm
APPARENTLY we are all helicopter parents – anxiously hovering near our kids at all times, always ready to tell them to stop doing something that might be annoying, dangerous or just stupid.
So this series, which watches to see if kids can become more independent if parents leave them alone for a while, has been quite eye-opening.
In this final episode, single mother Alison wants to see if leaving her four daughters for a long weekend will make them more self-sufficient. Anya, the eldest at 15, admits she’s not very responsible and is often in “dream world”. There’s also 13-year-old Freya, and Isla, eight, and Evie, aged 10.
Alison is about to spend the longest time apart from her girls. Can she stop worrying and will the sisters cope?
