Smashing time with hero Sol

Cardiff City’s Sol Bamba celebrates with Noah

SOL Bamba is already a massive fans’ favourite at Cardiff City, but his antics after netting his side’s opening goal in the win over Southampton will only see the adoration from the terraces grow.

After prodding home to give his side the lead during a dramatic game at St Mary’s, the centre-back made a beeline for the 3,000 fans in the rapturous away end, hopping over the advertising hoardings and even shoving a steward out of the way in the process.

He was soon mobbed by a number of jubilant Bluebirds, including 18-year old Noah Bushby who, in the heat of the moment, instinctively reached out to grab his hero.

However, he was soon mobbed by fellow supporters – smashing his glasses in the process.

Not that he’s too bothered about it, tweeting afterwards: “Definitely worth breaking my glasses celebrating with Sol Bamba today.”

Noah has season ticket for the Bluebirds and attends games with his dad.

While he attends every home game, Noah’s only ever been to two away games – Southampton and Leicester City – both of which were decided by a late winner.

“Whenever we score it’s mental. I was at Leicester as well and we scored a 90th minute winner there. It goes mad,” he said.
