Parents: Mum, Stacey Evans, 26, from Hawthorn, and dad, Paul Evans, 26, sound engineer, from Hawthorn. Mum’s story: Stacey said: “We only found out that we were expecting when I was suddenly sick.
“After five days of morning sickness, Paul booked me an appointment to see the doctor and they confirmed the pregnancy there.
“We had always talked about having a family. We just didn’t expect it to happen so quickly after we got married. “The sickness was the only downside to the pregnancy.
“To say that Paul was excited is a bit of an understatement.
“He came with me to all of the antenatal classes and while there he would be smiling throughout.
“During the actual labour and birth Paul was my rock. He did everything by the book and had clearly learnt everything from the classes.
“The labour, from start to finish, lasted just shy of eight hours.
“When Lily was born, the sense of relief was overwhelming for both Paul and me.
“We still hadn’t decided on a name, yet when we saw her for the first time – we both knew that we were in love. So we decided then that, that would be her initials.
“So we picked Lily, as it is my favourite flower; Olivia, from Paul’s mother; Victoria, from my grandmother; and we were lucky our surname is Evans.
“Lily means the world to us and is the living embodiment of our love together.”
