Searching for the truth about Aimee

-

GLAMOUR model and reality show star Aimee Spencer fell to her death from a seafront flat in the summer of 2016. The tragedy has remained a mystery, with a lengthy police investigation undertaken into how the 27-year-old Geordie Shore star and webcam girl came to fall from a first floor window in the Brighton building.

Cameras followed the investigation from start to finish, resulting in this fascinating and desperately sad documentary, fronted by Katie Piper.

It begins with the devastating 999 call, with a man saying: “She’s fallen from a window. She’s just breathing slowly, she’s face down.”

Police wearing bodycams then discover she had been at the flat of drug dealer Daniel Lewis and they had both been taking a cocktail of drugs. But how did she come to fall from the window?

Aimee’s sister Daria says: “We were told she went out the window, they didn’t say how. Was she pushed, did she go out on her own free will? That was the main question.

“My sister is scared of heights, what was she doing climbing out of a window?”

The documentary delves deep inside the investigation, using interviews with detectives trying to solve the case and footage of key developments to piece together how it happened.

Katie also interviews Aimee’s parents Richard and Jean to piece together more about Aimee as a person.

Mr Spencer says: “She was totally unique, I wouldn’t have changed her for the world. She had a wild side but she was my daughter and I loved her very much.”
