Can secret love survive in a Cold climate?

-

ADAM is playing footsie under the dinner table with Karen. Except that it isn’t Karen’s leg. It’s Pete’s, and Pete wants to know what the hell is going on. So begins this final episode of the comedy drama, which has yanked us through all the emotions over the last few weeks with stories of love, cancer, suicide and homelessness.

Adam (James Nesbitt) and Karen (Hermione Norris) are enjoying the excitement of their new relationship, but they are going to need to tell the gang at some point. And it’s all rather awkward isn’t it. “It feels like we’re cheating,” says Karen.

One by one, the friends discover the news and it sends shockwaves through the whole group to say the least.

With not everyone entirely happy about this new romance, will their relationship have to be shelved before it’s even begun?

In other news, David (Robert Bathurst) befriends the owner of a local cafe and ends up offering to help her during the chaotic lunchtime rush. But in a bid to get back on his feet, he has a business idea up his sleeve – it’s possibly not legal, but it’s a way she can become a modern-day Robin Hood.

And elsewhere, Jenny (Fay Ripley) is preparing for the choir concert to raise funds for Cancer Research, but some devastating news is a setback.

As usual, you can expect there to be plenty of heartache, with some comedy moments. And there’s a satisfying ending that while tying up loose ends, will still leave you wanting more.
