■■The next meeting of the Cardiff Diabetes UK Cymru Group is the Summer Lunch on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 12.30 pm in Yates, Greyfriars Road, Cardiff. This is a chance to relax and put diabetes in perspectiv­e with a good meal, drink and great company. Everyone is welcome, diabetic or not. ■■Rhiwbina Ladies Probus meets at the Deri Inn, Rhiwbina, at 10.15am on Monday, August 5 (and first Monday of each month). New members welcome. Talk this meeting is on antiques by Roger Jones.

■■Join us at Gartholwg Lifelong Learning Centre, Church Village, Pontypridd, on Tuesday, August 6, 2.30pm-4.30pm to hear from Angharad Lee (Leeway Production­s) and Jamie Berry (Avant Cymru) about their experience­s making accessible theatre. Jamie will talk about how Avant Cyrmu supports and safeguards the mental wellbeing of both artists and participan­ts the company works with, and the company members themselves. Having recently conceived, directed and co-produced the groundbrea­king production of The Last 5 Years, Angharad will discuss some of the challenges, discoverie­s and realisatio­ns she had as an artist as she moved from the initial idea to the first performanc­e of this accessible musical. The event is free and there will be plenty of time for discussion and questions. BSL interpreta­tion will be provided.

■■ The Parkinson’s Café CF14 Support Group will be meeting on Tuesday, August 6, 11am-1pm, at Whitchurch Community Centre, Old Church Road Whitchurch Cardiff CF14 1AD. Drop in for a cuppa and a chat. Warm welcome for new members, family and friends. Local contact Jo Taylor 07946 977509.
