DESPERATE family and friends have offered a £2,000 reward for a man who hasn’t been seen for two weeks.

Concern is growing for Jordan Moray, who was last seen in his hometown of Aberdare on July 24.

As well as the reward, Mr Moray’s family are organising searches of the Aberdare area in a bid to find the 32-year-old, who was reported missing to South Wales Police on August 2.

Mr Moray was “obsessed” with the Army and was a fit runner having taken part in the Fan Dance in 2018 – a 24km endurance run around Pen y Fan following the infamous route of the SAS selection march.

Jason Bowen, the race director for the Fan Dance and ex-military man, is coordinating the search operation for Mr Moray.

“Jordan has done a few of our events,” said Mr Bowen, who stumped up the £2k himself.

“I saw his picture and he had one of our medals around his neck. I remember him from the race.

“He was really hill fit and really keen. He was asking loads of questions about the military.

“I had a connection with him. No one asked me to come. I am just here as a person who just wants to find a fellow human being.”

Mr Bowen drove down from his home in north Wales to Aberdare after hearing Mr Jordan was missing and brought his own military equipment to help with the search.

He is issuing radios to those volunteering to help with the search as well as maps and offering his own experience.

Search parties have been using the Aberdare Fire Station as their base but have since moved to the White Lion on Gadlys Road, in Aberdare.

Mr Bowen is hoping the financial incentive will encourage a “wider audience” to get involved in the search.

He has also printed 2,000 posters with Mr Moran’s picture on and put them up across Aberdare and Brecon.

Search efforts by the volunteers have shifted towards the Brecon Beacons, where they believe Mr Moray may be hiding out.

“His interests were around the Brecon Beacons, but the Brecon Beacons are a vast area,” added Mr Bowen.

South Wales Police confirmed it was looking into Mr Moray’s disappearance.

A spokesman said: “We are appealing for information on the whereabouts of 32-year-old Jordan Moray from Aberdare. He was reported missing to us on August 2 and we are concerned for his welfare.

“Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting occurrence 1900284205.”
