Mickey Mouse could do no worse than this lot...

-

THE political scene in the UK is getting more farcical by the day.

The world, including the EU, must be splitting their sides in laughing at our once Great Britain, Westminster who having completely lost the plot.

We have the most exciting “Deal or No Deal” programme that is televised on a daily basis.

The prizes are profound, with a conglomeration of mixed up MPs who cannot decide who should shoulder the responsibility of thwarting a no deal Brexit.

In the yellow corner we have the activist Jo Swinson (Liberal Democrat), who is punching hard to stop Jeremy Corbyn (Labour) leading the emergency government. Then in the red corner we have Jeremy Corbyn, who returns the punch to Jo Swinson that she has no right to choose the heavyweights to displace current champion Boris Johnson.

In the neutral corners we have Father Of the House Ken Clarke and “matron” Harriet Harman who have also been proposed to serve as temporary government leaders to instigate a Brexit result.

We then have light heavyweights, namely Dominic Grieve, Sir Oliver Letwin and Nick Boles who have agreed to meet Jeremy Corbyn – but Mr Grieve has signalled he would not be supporting Jeremy Corbyn. Kwasi Kwarteng said he could not see Ken Clark leading an emergency government.

So, with a mixed bag of mixed up Members of Parliament with mixed ideas there are only two persons left – Mickey Mouse or Popeye. Take your pick. Mr M Stafford

Let’s have clarity on school changes

AS a local historian I’m aware that there is a consultation in September about Willows, Baden Powell and St Albans RC Primary schools, and their imminent closure sometime in the near future.

The proposed new site will be Tremorfa Park, but will only involve Willows and Baden Powell schools, therefore leaving St Albans RC school, whose historical roots go back well over a century, in limbo.

In retrospect, historically the land belongs to the diocese and St Albans RC School has been on that land going back well over many decades. The diocese, Estyn and the council need to convince parents and teachers alike their real motives, especially in St Albans’ case for its closure.

Make Trump an offer for America!

NOW that it has been decided that President’s Trump’s decision to offer to buy Greenland was not a good idea, why doesn’t Greenland decide to offer to buy the United States of America? Barbara MacArthur, Cathays

Our mosque doors will be open to all

AFTER years of haggling and disap

pointments with Cardiff council, I’m pleased that the construction of the mosque on Sanatorium Road in Canton is due to begin in December 2019.

This will be the first purpose-built mosque by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Cardiff chapter.

We will endeavour to build bridges of harmony and brotherhood within the communities in Cardiff in particular and Wales in general.

The doors of the mosque will remain open for any peaceful person who wishes to join us in creating understanding and mutual benefit among the diverse communities. Our motto is “Love for all, hatred fro none”. Muhammad Ikram Dar Mosque Committee Member Cardiff
