THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT

National Lottery Cinema Day is a chance to celebrate the amazing contribution the public has made to UK Film by playing The National Lottery.

Because every time you play a National Lottery game you help to raise around £30 million each week for Good Causes – including community, sport, heritage and, of course, film.

This impressive contribution has funded thousands of UK film projects and is a vital source of growth to the UK film industry.

SUPPORTING UK FILM FOR DECADES

Over the past 25 years that The National Lottery has been at the heart of UK life, it has worked closely with the British Film Institute (BFI) and thanks to your generosity has helped

to fund a total of 500 films,

including Pride, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, God’s Own

Country and I, Daniel Blake.

In fact, UK films funded by The National Lottery have won 15 Oscars, 100 BAFTAs and an incredible 29 awards at the Cannes Film Festival.

They have also launched the careers of homegrown stars such as Keira Knightley in Bend It Like Beckham, Rocketman

director Dexter Fletcher and Bafta-winning actor Jack O’Connell.

And not only that, your support has helped young actors from all different backgrounds get into film and supported both new and established filmmakers.

It’s also helped to create wonderful stories told on the silver screen and, most of all, ensured that more UK audiences have greater access to fantastic films.

The UK has always been famed for its

rich cultural offerings and your contribution has seen more people given the chance to get into this exciting industry with BFI academies for children of all ages, as well as education and training programmes.

LET’S CELEBRATE!

This year The National Lottery turns 25, and is looking back on all the spectacular achievements of the past quarter of a century.

So here’s to 25 years of telling great stories on the silver screen launching the careers of future film stars and wowing audiences right across the country. And here’s to you, for making it all possible. Enjoy your blockbuster bank holiday!
