■The Cardiff & District Chrysanthemum and Dahlia Society is holding its annual Early Flower Show at the Scout Hall in Heol y Bont, Rhiwbina, at 2.30pm, tomorrow. All are welcome and admission is free.
■Tomorrow, Conway 50+ starts again after the August break. There will be lively music and fun provided by the Ukulele Nights. They play for free but there will be a donation to their chosen charity. It is a great programme of songs which will bring back happy memories. The 50+ group is held in the Conway Church Hall, entrance on Romilly Crescent, Cardiff CF11 9NT (bus route 61). Entrance is £2 which includes tea/ coffee & biscuits. The hall is open from 10.15am and the session starts at 10.45am. This is a community group run entirely by volunteers. All over-50s welcome, and carers no matter what age. To see the weekly programme of talks and activities for the autumn visit the Conway Methodist Church website.
■ On Friday, September 6, Penarth Aviation Society will be meeting in the Penarth Conservative Club at 7.45pm for 8pm, when there is a talk on the subject of the recovery of crashed aircraft. Why not join the society? It meets on the first Friday of the month at the Penarth Conservative Club. Visitors and potential members are welcome to attend, for a small donation, to sample the hospitality. ■A book sale is taking place on Saturday, September 7, at 2pm in St Mary’s Church Hall, Church Road, Whitchurch, CF14 2DX. Large number of hard/paperback books in excellent condition.
■RAFA Club, Riverside Terrace (CF5 5AR) is hosting a fundraiser for Rozmogz Reborn Cat Rescue on Friday, September 27. Tickets for Back to the 70s/80s Magic of Motown cost £5 and are available by calling 07905 841056.
